  TALLAHASSEE FIBER LOOP (TFL)

Tallahassee Fiber Loop (TFL) is a 13 mile ring of dark fiber that connects to multiple Educational and communications entities in the capitol city. North West Regional Data Center (NWRDC) operates the resource. The loop passes by each of the following institutions and has dual entrance connections into each of them. The educational connectors are Florida State University (FSU-1) at Innovation Park, North West Regional Data Center (NWRDC), Community College Library Automation (CCLA), Tallahassee Community College (TCC), FSU main campus (FSU-2), Florida Department of Education, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. The telecommunications carrier ‘Level 3’ is connected to TFL and also is a connection point to the statewide Florida Lambda Rail (FLR) ring of Dense Wave division Multiplex (DWDM) systems that connects at 10Gigabit to multiple universities in Florida. The TFL is also adjacent to other nation-wide telecommunications carriers AT&T and Embarq and Qwest so that they can easily connected to FLR in the future if desired.
