DSL (digital subscriber line) carries both voice and data simultaneously using your existing phone line. It delivers high-speed Internet connectivity to your home using your existing telephone line at speeds that will allow you to do more than dial-up. What this means to you is that you can talk on the phone and surf the Net at the same time. Embarq & FSU have a partnership that offers FSU@home DSL to give you the benefits of DSL at your home, as well as assistance in accessing additional perks to FSU students and employees.

STEP #1: Check Eligibility

Send email to help@otc.fsu.edu providing name, e-mail address, street address and home telephone number. If you already have service with Embarq, you must be the bill payer on the local service account with Embarq.

STEP #2: Place Order

If DSL is available at your residence, order now by calling 1-800-877-1590. To receive the FSU@Home special pricing, you must ask for the "FSU@Home Special" code: AAAREBT(AAA) AND provide them with your FSUCard ID number, so please have it ready when ordering.

STEP #3: Installation & Configuration

Visit Embarq's High-speed Internet Support Center for installation information, user guides, technical support or to test your speed!

STEP #4: Accessing the FSU LAN (optional)

Most sites at FSU are public. For restricted sites such as the Library, you will find instructions on that page (ie. EZ Proxy.) If you need assistance, contact FSU Technology Services Help Desk at 850.644.HELP (4357) or email at help@otc.fsu.edu.
