Local/Long Distance Phone Service
  • The Office of Telecommunications does not provide local telephone service. You must contact a local carrier (Embarq has access to FSU facilities through various alliances, at this time). Each residence hall room is equipped with wiring for a telephone line.
  • Long Distance is established at the time of carrier choice.
  • If you wish to use IP telephony (i.e.Vonage, Skype): The Resident Hall Network (ResNet) at FSU is a shared resource wherein all students share a common bandwidth. FSU makes no guarantees concerning IP Telephony and consequently cannot support any issues with this service.
  • The student and their voice provider are responsible for troubleshooting their voice problems.
